I have a friend, who many years ago, raved about his new badger hair shaving brush. He absolutely loved it and he seemed to have developed a weird obsession with it. I know what you are thinking, and I agree, perhaps I do have weird friends. Anyway I didn’t think much of it at the time, but then today, when I browsed through my e-mails, I learned how these celebrated items are actually made! I’m like WTF!!!
To kill them, workers bashed the badgers in the head with whatever object was handy. One badger was hit in the head with a chair leg. Because he was too frightened to leave his cage, workers hit him again, causing him to fall onto the floor, after which they cut his throat and left him to bleed out in excruciating pain, like all the other badgers killed before him.
I don’t know about you, and I encourage everyone to battle their own moral dilemmas, yet, seeing the suffering these animals go through, I think I may actually be perfectly fine with the synthetic alternative. If you agree, then help PETA with their campaign to do something about this TODAY! Ow, and next time you stock up on your make-up, shaving and paint brushes, pay attention to what you buy. After all, voting with your wallet/paying attention to your buying decisions, has proven to be a every effective method in bringing about change across many sectors.
